CLASSICAL KING FM

Classical KING FM is a nonprofit public radio station broadcasting in Seattle, WA.

CHALLENGE:

The station was faced with an outdated brand identity, website, and app that no longer reflected its mission and values. The challenge extended to aligning the board members and employees with the rebranding process while ensuring that the changes resonated with the evolving audience without alienating the long-standing listeners.

MY ROLE: 

Account & Project Management

I was the primary contact between the client and our agency, ensuring clear communication and understanding of the project's objectives. I successfully managed the budget, keeping expenses aligned with the project's financial constraints. And I effectively resolved challenges that emerged during the project, maintaining client satisfaction and project momentum.

Brand Strategist

I collaborated with anther brand strategist to clarify and define the Classical KING FM brand. Participated and conducted qualitative interviews and strategy workshops.

Creative Direction

I directed the creative vision, aligning it with the client's branding & strategic goals. I led a team consisting of identity and UX designers and developers ensuring collaboration and consistency the development of the work.

Brand ID Design

Participated in the design of the Classical KING identity system and then extending into stationery system, signage, swag, social media graphics and other touchpoints

Website & App UX

Participated in the UX process of website and app.

I actively worked on the visual design of the website and app.

Brand Strategy

I actively participated in the brand strategy phase to redefine who Classical KING is and what they are and stand for, working closely with the strategy team to conduct qualitative interviews, competitive audits, and stakeholder workshops. I then co-presented our findings, facilitating discussions to ensure alignment and buy-in from 12-16 key employees and board stakeholders.

Identity System

I managed, directed, and participated in the redesign of the Classical KING logo. A critical component of the rebrand from the CEO’s perspective, I managed the involvement of 12-18 key stakeholders effectively to gain their consensus and investment into the final design. Then developed a visual identity system and applied it onto Stationery, signage, swag and other collateral.

My responsibilities encompassed managing the UX and visual design process and ensuring the internal team's goals were met for easy updates and responsiveness to fund drives.

RESULTS:

Classical KING FM's visual identity was successfully modernized by aligning it with its strategic goals. The new identity gained immediate widespread acceptance among board members, employees and listeners.

The website redesign also improved usability for both audiences and internal operations, particularly enhancing fundraising capabilities.
